Welcome, creative, spiritual journey,
friends to the new beginning meditation,
2
:where we're gonna practice showing
up, staying in the moment, and when
3
:our mind wanders off, which it will.
4
:Coming back into the now moment,
this meditation can be done anywhere.
5
:While you're driving, working in
your kitchen or sitting quietly
6
:on your couch, preferably in the
morning before you step out into
7
:the noise and the chaos of the day.
8
:Much like sitting and witnessing
a sunrise in our last episode
9
:titled It is Never Too Late.
10
:To Begin, I asked the question.
11
:What if it weren't too late for you?
12
:What would you do And then I had you think
of something you've always desired to
13
:learn, and listen to your heart and choose
one small step to begin with I love the
14
:scripture in Alma 37, 6 that says, now
you suppose that is foolishness in me.
15
:But behold, I say unto you that
by small and simple things are
16
:great things brought to pass.
17
:this is telling us that by these
small and simple things that we
18
:choose to meditate upon to begin
again, can lead to great things.
19
:In this meditation, we will
nourish our beginner's mindset.
20
:Have you ever heard of that?
21
:Well, in the teachings of Zen, there
is a quote in the beginner's mind.
22
:There are infinite possibilities.
23
:In the expert mind, there are few.
24
:So the beginner's mind, I think,
of becoming like a child humble.
25
:Teachable.
26
:What if we could have this beautiful
blend, a dance of the beginner's mind,
27
:this being a little child with the expert
mind of the wisdom that we have gained.
28
:From years of experience on the
journey and letting go of those
29
:fears and lies and those things that
it's too late for us to begin again.
30
:So this meditation is a practice
where we're gonna ask ourselves this
31
:question, am I willing to begin?
32
:Again?
33
:This is not like a board game
where you're sent back to the
34
:beginning and have to start over.
35
:It is more like being on a backpacking
trip and the new dawn where we pick
36
:up our packs and look at the map
and chart our course for the day.
37
:A new day, a new beginning, I guess you
could call it being born again, changing
38
:our heart, changing the direction of
our course, Having an open, humble heart
39
:Okay, let's begin by getting comfortable,
40
:taking in a nice, deep breath.
41
:I'm going to give you a
moment to set up this space.
42
:Please try to find somewhere
where you can just listen to my
43
:words and not be interrupted.
44
:Place of quiet of stillness.
45
:Breathe in through the nose
and down into the belly.
46
:We just allow our body and our
mind to hush into this a moment
47
:of infinite possibilities,
48
:and just follow my words.
49
:Remember, creativity often begins
where no one can see it like roots.
50
:Of a planted tree, the small and simple,
51
:Today I am open to beginning again,
52
:an open heart, an open mind.
53
:I am receiving.
54
:I am receiving inspiration,
enlightenment, and guidance.
55
:I am grateful, grateful for the
beauties and oz of this journey,
56
:and I am giving, giving away
my fears and uncertainties.
57
:To the Lord.
58
:Okay.
59
:We're just gonna sense for a moment
where we're feeling that in our bodies.
60
:Breathing in again,
61
:that light.
62
:Let it just wash through You.
63
:Wash out the noise.
64
:The fears,
65
:maybe even the wiggles, depending on
what you're feeling right now, and let's
66
:just settle into it again, Joey breathing
in today, I am open to beginning again.
67
:Aware that there are an infinite amount
of possibilities that lie out before me.
68
:I am receiving guidance.
69
:To know what the next step
is, courage to take it.
70
:I am grateful for the joys and even
the bumps and falls along the way.
71
:It's all learning,
72
:and I am giving.
73
:I am giving my heart to
be changed, strengthened
74
:to become new
75
:breathing in settling into that space.
76
:Take.
77
:Good, good breath in.
78
:You're doing great.
79
:Let's do it again.
80
:Today I am open to beginning
again, mindful of what the
81
:Lord has in store for me.
82
:I am receiving with.
83
:Gratitude, inspiration and guidance
to know what the next step is.
84
:I am grateful for the
infinite possibilities,
85
:the grace, the strength
I am receiving with.
86
:to step forward.
87
:I am giving.
88
:I am giving encouragement
and shining my light.
89
:I am giving a hand up
to my fellow travelers.
90
:I am giving my heart.
91
:What small and simple step
92
:can you take today?
93
:Just take this moment to listen.
94
:To ponder, pray.
95
:Think about how God has left
the world unfinished for a
96
:man to work his skill upon.
97
:It's a beautiful thought.
98
:He's left your life unfinished so that you
and I have the challenge of raw materials,
99
:not the ease of finished things.
100
:He leaves the pictures unpainted and
the music un sung, and the problems
101
:unsolved that you and I might know the
joys and the glory of creation, the joys.
102
:And the wonderment of being a beginner,
you are never too old to begin again.
103
:So shore up that courage,
take in that deep breath.
104
:What beautiful experience
awaits you today?
105
:on your journey?
106
:We'll have to pick up our packs
and set our course to discover that
107
:wonder and that infinite possibility.
108
:What will it be I.
109
:I'm so grateful you've joined me today.
110
:Now take your time here.
111
:Just breathing.
112
:Enjoying that beautiful sunrise,
the beginning of a new day,
113
:and I hope to see you on the trail.
114
:Namaste.
