Hooray.

2

:

Kia here.

3

:

I'm this week's host of the

creative, spiritual journey podcast.

4

:

Where Judy and I talk about

what we're learning on this

5

:

crazy journey we call life.

6

:

Today.

7

:

I wanted to talk about new moons,

rainbows and heavenly mother.

8

:

Believe it or not, there is a

connection between these things.

9

:

Let me explain.

10

:

First.

11

:

I wanted to talk about heavenly

mother because may is the month

12

:

we celebrate mother's day.

13

:

And second, I wanted to talk about

heavenly mother because in my

14

:

quest to live seasonally, Closer

to the natural cycles of the earth.

15

:

I have discovered her in some

unexpected places and I thought

16

:

they would be fun to share.

17

:

So don't you love that

we have heavenly parents.

18

:

This is a radical and

extraordinary Christian doctrine.

19

:

And one, I am so grateful to have.

20

:

I often repeat in my mind the opening

line of the young women's theme.

21

:

I am a beloved daughter of

heavenly parents with a divine

22

:

nature and an eternal destiny.

23

:

I will literally lay in bed in

the morning and recite those words

24

:

over and over in my mind so that

whatever is going on that day.

25

:

Whatever I have to do.

26

:

I know who I am and where I'm going.

27

:

I'm also incredibly grateful for Eliza

R snow who penned the words to the him?

28

:

Oh my father.

29

:

Let me read you the third verse.

30

:

I had learned to call the father.

31

:

Through the spirit from on high.

32

:

But until the key of

knowledge was restored.

33

:

I knew not why.

34

:

In the heavens are parents single.

35

:

No, the thought makes reason stare.

36

:

Truth is reason.

37

:

Truth.

38

:

Eternal tells me I've a mother there.

39

:

I love her line.

40

:

Truth makes reason stare.

41

:

If we have a heavenly father, then

we must have a heavenly mother.

42

:

Mother mother, mother.

43

:

One to like to know more about her.

44

:

As a member of the church of Jesus Christ

of latter day saints, we pray to heavenly

45

:

father in the name of Jesus Christ.

46

:

We do not pray to heavenly mother.

47

:

We have also been taught that seeking

greater understanding is an important

48

:

part of spiritual development,

but that we should be cautious.

49

:

Reason does not replace revelation.

50

:

I take that admonition to heart.

51

:

And in regard to heavenly mother.

52

:

I also find myself referring to

doctrine and covenants 25 for.

53

:

Murmur not because of the

things which thou has not seen.

54

:

For their withheld from the

end, from the world, which is

55

:

wisdom in me in a time to come.

56

:

This first causes me to imagine

that heavenly mother has been

57

:

withheld from us for a reason.

58

:

And that at some point.

59

:

Some glorious, wonderful point.

60

:

She will be unveiled.

61

:

She will come forth in her

majesty glory and power, and

62

:

we will know her and love her.

63

:

Until then I believe our heavenly

mother stands firmly beside our

64

:

heavenly father and her son.

65

:

With all that said there are

some wonderful glimpses of

66

:

heavenly mother in scripture.

67

:

That thoughtful scholars have

noted, and I love to study them.

68

:

One of those scholars is Mandy green.

69

:

And I want to share a few things

I have learned from her course

70

:

finding heavenly mother in scripture.

71

:

One of my favorite concepts

from Mandy are her thoughts

72

:

about the artist Henry Moore.

73

:

Who created semi-abstract

bronze sculpture.

74

:

These sculptures, some of which are huge.

75

:

Are known for their negative space.

76

:

Not the form itself, but the

shape you see around them.

77

:

Mandy equates.

78

:

This idea was seeing

heavenly mother in scripture.

79

:

Sometimes we have to look for

what is not there to find her.

80

:

Applying this idea.

81

:

And with her understanding of the

Hebrew language, Mandy talks about

82

:

several key titles of heavenly mother.

83

:

I love these.

84

:

The titles are wisdom

counsel and understanding.

85

:

I'm not going to go into the

Hebrew details about how these

86

:

words represent heavenly mother.

87

:

For that you will have to take Mandy's

course, which I highly recommend.

88

:

But let me highlight these words again.

89

:

Wisdom.

90

:

The ability to discern.

91

:

Insight.

92

:

Good sense.

93

:

Good judgment.

94

:

The Sage.

95

:

Wisdom implies a sense of

judgment, far above average.

96

:

Yes.

97

:

Yes.

98

:

Don't you believe that's

our heavenly mother.

99

:

And then there's council.

100

:

To guide.

101

:

Direct Warren advise.

102

:

That's advice as in consultation, a talk.

103

:

Heavenly mother is a counselor.

104

:

And understanding.

105

:

The power to comprehend.

106

:

Friendly.

107

:

Harmonious relational.

108

:

Understanding that's not formal, but

binding, compassionate, empathetic.

109

:

Ah, that's beautiful.

110

:

Wisdom council understanding.

111

:

Don't those words.

112

:

Describe your imaginations

of a heavenly mother.

113

:

They do mine.

114

:

And here's where my brain takes

a huge leap with this concept of

115

:

looking at the negative space.

116

:

In my humble, innocent quest to live

closer to the earth and the seasons.

117

:

I have been contemplating

the moon and its cycles.

118

:

And what, if anything, it

could have to teach me.

119

:

So when Mandy talked about this idea

of looking for heavenly mother in the

120

:

negative spaces, My mind jumped to

the moon, specifically the new moon.

121

:

The ultimate negative space.

122

:

There, but not there.

123

:

Unseen in the shadows.

124

:

To me that describes my

current relationship with her.

125

:

Not there, but there.

126

:

And here's.

127

:

What's cool.

128

:

I love the light of the full

moon, all the more because of

129

:

the darkness of the new moon.

130

:

It's part of the cycle.

131

:

Well, we love our heavenly

mother all the more for not

132

:

having known her for a season.

133

:

I don't know for sure.

134

:

But the idea just makes me happy

and I'm fascinated that trying to

135

:

tune into the moon and its cycles

has led me to heavenly mother.

136

:

I suppose this shouldn't be surprising.

137

:

Through time, the moon has

been seen as a feminine symbol.

138

:

With its cycle representing

immortality and eternity.

139

:

Another thing that for me, ties

the moon to heavenly mother.

140

:

Is that the moon is said to represent

our development well, earth side.

141

:

The new moon being infancy.

142

:

The Crescent moon being youth,

the full moon adulthood.

143

:

And the waning moon that decline of life.

144

:

And the idea is our heavenly mother, is

there the whole time watching over us.

145

:

Even if we don't see her, she is there.

146

:

You know, As I was preparing

for this podcast, the words moon

147

:

mother kept coming to my mind.

148

:

And I could even recall the

sound of moon mother's voice.

149

:

And as these thoughts came to me, I

began to remember that as a child, I had

150

:

a record with a story about moon mother.

151

:

I wanted to remember the story.

152

:

So I began searching the internet

and I found lots of moon mother's

153

:

stories from all different cultures.

154

:

Native American, Japanese, Greek.

155

:

They all have this moon mother tradition.

156

:

I'm sharing this because with all the

different cultures, having the same idea.

157

:

I would suspect it's one of those things

that's been hardwired into our DNA.

158

:

Somehow, it makes sense to me that the

moon and heavenly mother are connected.

159

:

So there you go.

160

:

Those are my thoughts about

the moon and heavenly mother.

161

:

I hope they encourage

you to watch the moon.

162

:

Now I want to talk about the rainbow.

163

:

I love this.

164

:

It takes a bit of explaining.

165

:

So bear with me.

166

:

It will be worth it.

167

:

Margaret Barker, a Methodist preacher

and biblical scholar found this one

168

:

little change in words, when she was

doing her own translation of the Bible.

169

:

In Ezekiel 10, 20 other translators

use the words, the living creature.

170

:

Referring to the creature.

171

:

I saw in a vision as

recorded in a ZKO one.

172

:

Margaret Barker feels a better translation

would be, she is the living creature.

173

:

There is no official explanation for the

vision in No one, no revelation exists.

174

:

That explains it.

175

:

But Margaret's translation allows us to

wonder if the vision is heavenly mother.

176

:

Because who else could the Xi be?

177

:

You don't have to believe me.

178

:

You don't have to believe Margaret Barker.

179

:

This is simply something to ponder.

180

:

If you are interested.

181

:

Here are my thoughts.

182

:

I could spend all day talking about

One and all the ways I see a feminine

183

:

creature who might be heavenly mother.

184

:

But that would be too

much for this podcast.

185

:

I just want to say that I see

this creature energetically.

186

:

I see chakra like wheels of energy

and symbolism in the animals.

187

:

Love in the wings and

steadfastness in her movement.

188

:

I read it for yourself

and ponder what you see.

189

:

The one part I want to take a

moment to talk about is found in

190

:

the last two verses of Ezekiel one.

191

:

says describing the creature.

192

:

I saw as it were the appearance of

fire and it had brightness roundabout

193

:

as the appearance of the bow that

is in the cloud in the day of rain.

194

:

She was seen engulfed in the

bright radiant light of a rainbow.

195

:

I love that.

196

:

Where I live in the high desert.

197

:

I see rainbows most often in the summer

when it is so hot and dry and thunder

198

:

clouds begin to build and I'm watching

them and hoping and praying that it

199

:

will rain and cool down the earth.

200

:

Often it doesn't and the clouds

drift away leaving me disappointed.

201

:

But many times the heavenly rains fall.

202

:

And I can't resist dancing

outside until I'm soaked.

203

:

And then if I'm lucky, As I have

been on several occasions, I will

204

:

see my whole valley arched from cliff

to cliff with a glorious rainbow.

205

:

To me, this brings up the

negative space idea again.

206

:

The hot, dry longing for relief.

207

:

And then the rain finally comes quenching

the earth, like the love of a mother.

208

:

Our heavenly mother.

209

:

And that reflection.

210

:

That reflection of light off

water droplets creates a glorious

211

:

rainbow where nothing was before.

212

:

So that is the second way.

213

:

I've come to see her as a longing.

214

:

A longing relieved by water droplets,

sunlight, and the creation of a rainbow.

215

:

There was so much, we don't

know about heavenly mother.

216

:

But I have every faith that

the knowledge will come.

217

:

And that when the time is right,

we will be flooded with her wisdom.

218

:

And it will be as a quenching rain.

219

:

I told you in another podcast

that I live in a dugout and that

220

:

my desk is right by a window.

221

:

What I didn't mention is that I have

rainbow creating stickers on the window.

222

:

And in the morning when the sun

shines through little rainbows sign

223

:

around my space, making me so happy.

224

:

Are they a gift from heavenly mother?

225

:

I like to think so.

226

:

So that's where mother's day.

227

:

And my creative spiritual journey

have taken me over the last few weeks.

228

:

I had no idea that I would

find my heavenly mother in

229

:

the moon and in rainbows.

230

:

Look for her yourself, and don't

forget to check the negative spaces.

231

:

If you enjoyed this episode,

please share it with a friend.

232

:

And if you're inclined, please

leave us a five-star review.

233

:

Your help is the only way Judy and I

will be able to continue this podcast.

234

:

Reason tells me I have a heavenly mother.

235

:

And that until she is unveiled,

I can find her in wisdom.

236

:

Counsel and understanding.

237

:

As well as the moon and rainbows.

238

:

Nama stay.

About the Podcast

Creative Spiritual Journey
one small, deliberate step at a time
We are all on a journey—a journey home to our heavenly parents. Any experienced traveler knows there are days you laugh and days you cry.

We aren’t here to tell you how to live—we are here to share how we live—how we survive, thrive, and even find joy!

The journey gets messy with rainstorms and sleepless flights but the hard times—the miserable times—those make the best stories.

And the vistas, the sunsets, the little birds outside the window—those are the reminders that God is in the details, he is aware of us, he has trod the path before.

The Creative Spiritual Journey Podcast is hosted by Judy and Ghia Cooley—two sisters in their wisdom years—who love the savior and are dedicated to making this journey one small, deliberate step at a time.
