FAITH OVER FEAR MEDITATION

What do you fear? we are wired for fear. what about when the Savior asks us, "where is your faith?"

This meditation is the second part of the episode "Courage & The Pot of Gold" from The Creative Spiritual Journey Podcast .

“Master, carest thou not that we perish?” the disciples cried to the Savior as the waves and wind battered their little ship (see Mark 4:37–38). In times of despair, we may find ourselves desperate for help and questioning the Savior’s care for us. However desperate our situation may seem, Jesus Christ has the ability and power to ease our burdens, rebuke our troubles, and say to us, “Peace, be still” This meditation is intended to help you receive the Lord’s peace and calm during the struggles and storms you encounter.

Welcome.

2

:

It was a beautiful day on the shores of

Galilee when Jesus stood in a boat and

3

:

taught the people on shore in parables.

4

:

One of Sowers planning seeds.

5

:

And if soils.

6

:

Rocky grounds, weeds and heat.

7

:

And how a seed would grow.

8

:

Or not.

9

:

He then told the parable of a light being

hid under a bushel and of having faith.

10

:

The size of a mustard seed and

enough to do great miracles.

11

:

He said, He said that those who

have ears to hear what here.

12

:

I'm thinking many walked away,

not sure of what was taught.

13

:

Other thought maybe he was a mad man.

14

:

Afterwards in the ship.

15

:

With his.

16

:

Disciples.

17

:

He explained his teachings to them.

18

:

This, we will call the lessons.

19

:

Much like taught in a classroom.

20

:

But then the practical

tasks came at sunset.

21

:

When they cast off the shore to

travel across to the other side.

22

:

Mark four verse 35 to 41.

23

:

And that same day.

24

:

When the evening was come, he said unto

them, let us pass over to the other side.

25

:

And there arose a great storm of wind

and the waves beat into the ship.

26

:

So it was now full and he

was in the hinder part of

27

:

the ship asleep on a pillow.

28

:

And they awaken him and say, auntie a

master carousel, not that we perish.

29

:

And he arose.

30

:

And rebuked the wind

and said unto the sea.

31

:

Peace.

32

:

The steel.

33

:

And the wind ceased.

34

:

And there was a great calm.

35

:

And he said unto them.

36

:

Why are you fearful?

37

:

How is it that you have no faith?

38

:

And they feared exceedingly.

39

:

And said one to another.

40

:

What manner of man is this.

41

:

That even the wind.

42

:

And the sea obey him.

43

:

I can just imagine.

44

:

Being in that vessel.

45

:

The darkness.

46

:

The waves.

47

:

The fear.

48

:

I too would probably

cry out master carousel.

49

:

Not that we perish.

50

:

This is what the disciples.

51

:

Cried out as the waves and the

wind battered their little ship.

52

:

In times of despair.

53

:

We may find ourselves desperate for help

and questioning the Savior's care for us.

54

:

However desperate.

55

:

Our situation may seem.

56

:

Jesus Christ.

57

:

Has the ability and the power.

58

:

And the love.

59

:

To ease our burdens.

60

:

Rebuke our troubles.

61

:

And say to our soul.

62

:

Peace.

63

:

The steel.

64

:

This meditation is intended to help

you receive the Lord's peace and calm.

65

:

During the struggles and storms.

66

:

You encounter.

67

:

If you would.

68

:

Or if you haven't yet set yourself

comfortable on the ground or in a chair.

69

:

Where you can relax.

70

:

And be supported as you joined

me in this guided meditation.

71

:

Like all meditative prayer.

72

:

We begin with breath.

73

:

Breathing in and out of your nose.

74

:

Slowing your breath.

75

:

Slowing your heart.

76

:

And your mind.

77

:

If you would visualize with me.

78

:

That you're in a vessel.

79

:

A ship.

80

:

And we've cast off from the shore.

81

:

Our destination.

82

:

The other side.

83

:

Let yourself down.

84

:

On the bottom, this vessel.

85

:

Gently rocking.

86

:

Breathing in.

87

:

I'm breathing out.

88

:

It's been a long day.

89

:

And you notice up above a

blanket of stars in the heaven.

90

:

Beautiful evening.

91

:

All is well.

92

:

Maybe in your mind, you're

reflecting upon the day.

93

:

The lessons of seeds and grounds.

94

:

And light center bushels.

95

:

And as the boat continues to rock.

96

:

And you notice the clouds moving in.

97

:

And the wind begins to pick up.

98

:

And you're gentle, rocking turns rough.

99

:

Suddenly your attention is drawn.

100

:

How dark it seems.

101

:

Has the big waves began

to beat on your ship.

102

:

Water begins pouring over the sides.

103

:

You struggle with the sales.

104

:

You tighten your grip.

105

:

To hold on.

106

:

From falling overboard.

107

:

What do you fear?

108

:

Drowning.

109

:

Being lost in the deep dark water.

110

:

Not being able to control the

ship or the storm or find shelter.

111

:

Does your mind fear that your

loved ones on board or others?

112

:

They too.

113

:

Are in danger.

114

:

Now as you visualize this scene, I

want you to take a moment to sense

115

:

Where in your body do you carry fear?

116

:

I tight jaw or fist.

117

:

Maybe a not.

118

:

In your neck or a lump in the throat.

119

:

A pit in your belly.

120

:

Tension across your shoulders.

121

:

Uh, heaviness in your head.

122

:

Or erasing of your heart.

123

:

Where do you sense?

124

:

Fear?

125

:

In your body.

126

:

Imagine you praying and seeking.

127

:

Speaking and crying out

his name, calling to him.

128

:

And then you remember.

129

:

He is in your festival.

130

:

You have answered.

131

:

Into a covenant, a sacred bond with him.

132

:

And his name is written on your heart.

133

:

And your name is written

on the palms of his hands.

134

:

His hands, these mighty hands.

135

:

That can calm this storm and this SI.

136

:

His hands who created all

things, both had heaven.

137

:

And in earth.

138

:

He.

139

:

Is on your vessel.

140

:

He.

141

:

Can calm this storm.

142

:

Come back.

143

:

To breath.

144

:

Slowly down.

145

:

Slowly breathing in.

146

:

Call mean.

147

:

You're trembling.

148

:

Breathing in through the nose.

149

:

Down into the belly.

150

:

Let go with a fist.

151

:

The tight jaw.

152

:

The tension on their shoulders.

153

:

Relax into it.

154

:

How do you cry out for your saviors help?

155

:

Breathe in light, his light.

156

:

Remembering.

157

:

Him.

158

:

His power, his strength,

his grace, his love.

159

:

Bri that now into that place of fear.

160

:

Bringing his light and his calm.

161

:

Breathe in.

162

:

Peace.

163

:

Be still.

164

:

And just like that.

165

:

The wave Cece.

166

:

The clouds disappear.

167

:

And they're stillness.

168

:

And your vessel is gently.

169

:

Gliding.

170

:

Alon.

171

:

Now in this sacred space.

172

:

That's breathing gratitude.

173

:

Gratitude.

174

:

For him.

175

:

That even the waves and

the sea obey is well.

176

:

What manner of man is this.

177

:

Where is your faith?

178

:

Breathing in gently

rocking on a sea of light.

179

:

Held and his mighty arms.

180

:

You remember all he asked today?

181

:

Was for faith, the size of a mustard seed.

182

:

Believing.

183

:

That it can grow mighty.

184

:

For now.

185

:

Just let him hold you.

186

:

Fair or not.

187

:

Fear, not little children for you

are mine and I've overcome the world.

188

:

I have overcome the storm

and the waves and all that.

189

:

You fear.

190

:

And you are them that

the father has given me.

191

:

And none of them that the father

has given me shall be lost.

192

:

You and all your loved ones are held.

193

:

And it's mighty arms.

194

:

Redeemed.

195

:

Rescued.

196

:

And safe.

197

:

Fear not.

198

About the Podcast

Creative Spiritual Journey
one small, deliberate step at a time
We are all on a journey—a journey home to our heavenly parents. Any experienced traveler knows there are days you laugh and days you cry.

We aren’t here to tell you how to live—we are here to share how we live—how we survive, thrive, and even find joy!

The journey gets messy with rainstorms and sleepless flights but the hard times—the miserable times—those make the best stories.

And the vistas, the sunsets, the little birds outside the window—those are the reminders that God is in the details, he is aware of us, he has trod the path before.

The Creative Spiritual Journey Podcast is hosted by Judy and Ghia Cooley—two sisters in their wisdom years—who love the savior and are dedicated to making this journey one small, deliberate step at a time.
